แนะนำวารสาร open access ออกใหม่ Code4Lib
This mission of the Code4Lib Journal is to cover “the intersection of libraries, technology, and the future.” We hope that this journal can be one more contribution to the developing culture of collaboration around library technology, and we welcome you to join in our experiment.
เน้นการสื่อสารระหว่างผู้ปฏิบัติงาน เพราะฉะนั้นไม่ academic จ๋า ไม่เน้นทฤษฎีจัด อ่านง่าย ฉบับแรก ก็มีทั้งเรื่อง NCSU Catalog เปิด API สำหรับค้นหนังสือและตรวจสอบ availability ในนาม CatalogWS ซึ่งทำให้ application ที่เอาไปใช้ก็หลากหลาย เช่น ค้นผ่านโทรศัพท์มือถืิอ, การพัฒนา application การค้นแบบ Facet หรือการนำไปใช้กับ SNS เป็นต้น; การวิเคราะห์ข้อดีข้อเสีย และโอกาสของการค้นแบบ Facet และการใช้ LCSH ซึ่งน่าสนใจมาก (อ่านเพิ่มเติม: ค้นแบบ facet บน OPAC); ประสบการณ์ และแนวทางในการการนำ CMS มาช่วยในการเข้าถึง collection ของห้องสมุด ที่ Georgia Tech เป็นต้น
